Volunteering
Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our services at Nottinghamshire Mind. They bring a diverse set of skills, experiences, and fresh perspectives to our organization, enriching the support we offer to individuals across Nottinghamshire.
Simply put – without our volunteers we cannot do all that we do.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering helps many people in many ways. For some it is a way to give something back or to make a difference to the people around them. For others, it provides an opportunity to develop new skills, to put existing skills to good use, or to gain experience and knowledge. And for some, it is a way to share their personal story with others and to show them that they are not alone.
As one of our volunteers you would receive training for your role, and regular supervision from staff, so that you’re supported throughout your time with us. You’ll get to work with, and be part of, an amazing close-knit team who will really value and appreciate your contribution, help and support. And you’ll be supporting people on their journey towards improved mental well-being.
There are opportunities for learning and development, and we encourage volunteers to engage with our activities outside their main volunteering role, such as fundraising and promotion.
“I enjoy volunteering for Mind as I can interact with other people with similar situations.
I now realise I am not alone with my problems”
“Volunteering at Mind has been one of the most rewarding, yet challenging experiences of my life. I have met so many people here and every one has been a pleasure to meet, leaving a huge impact on my life. Every single minute has been a pleasure”
