Resilience & Stabilisation

Resilience & Stabilisation (R&S) is about helping people develop skills and coping strategies to better manage everyday life.

We will support individuals to build resilience so that they are able to effectively bounce back from life’s difficult situations.

We work in a non-clinical setting; we do not provide people with diagnosis or medication.

What to expect from Resilience & Stabilisation?

The programme is tailored to a client’s needs and what they feel is important to them to work on. During sessions our coaches will use a variety of techniques that draw from therapeutic models. You may recognise some of these techniques, such as CBT or DBT.

Our focus is to work in a Person-Centred way to ensure the sesisons are relevant to you and your needs. This means we do not use a ‘set’ method, as we are all unique and require different ways of learning.

It is important to note that whilst we draw from therapeutic models, this is not therapy or counselling. Our Recovery Coaches use a range of coaching models in a therapeutic way to help you achieve your goals.

How is the support delivered?

The Programme is really flexible, and we can work with people in different ways:

  • 1:1 work: This is where you will be assigned to a Recovery Coach and you will receive one-to-one support from them. Our delivery methods are flexible, and this will be decided between you and your coach.
  • Learning workshops:

These are guided sessions, delivered in a group setting meaning you get support from our Recovery Coach and the chance to receive and offer peer support to other participants. Sessions are delivered in locations across the county and we also offer a digital option.  The programme is person-centred and we are always happy to adapt our sessions to fit the group’s needs.

How do I know which pathway to take?

Before you are allocated to a pathway, you will receive a phone call from one of our trained delivery support team who will talk through these choices and help you decide the best option for you.

How can I access this service?

Nottinghamshire Mind’s Resilience & Stabilisation Programme is available on referral from practitioners within Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and mental health practitioners based in some of the local Primary Care Networks.

If you feel this programme could benefit you, please speak with your mental health support worker or GP.  While we’re unable to accept self-referrals or direct referrals from GPs, your GP can connect you with a mental health support worker who will be able to make a referral on your behalf.

I have had a referral made for me, what happens now?

We will send you text or email to confirm that we have received your referral – which includes a link to this page.  Our delivery support team will aim to contact you within 4 weeks to explain the programme, complete your assessment and allocate you to a pathway.

While you wait, please take a look at the information on other support and services available that we offer, please visit www.nottinghamshiremind.org.uk/our-services/

We also offer wellbeing calls to people who have been assessed but not yet started the programme.  These calls are a check-in to see how things are for you whilst you are waiting for our support.
