Meet the Team

Here at Nottinghamshire Mind we have a dedicated team of staff working hard to provide the best support possible to our community.

Our senior leadership team manages the day-to-day working of our organisation and services.

Nicola Rea

CEO

“From working in retail, I always knew I had a passion for working with people. I took up a volunteering position way back in 2007 with a local Mind and my connection with communities grew from there.

I wouldn’t change a thing about my journey at Nottinghamshire Mind, from being service manager to more recently operations manager.  I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many amazing people and been part of influencing change through so many of the experiences I’ve heard.

I’m delighted to have been appointed as CEO in February 2025, having been caretaking the role for a number of months.  I’m truly excited to be working alongside such a passionate and dedicated team. I’m looking forward to the journey ahead!”

Lindsay Simpson

Chief Operating Officer

“I joined Nottinghamshire Mind in January 2024 as HR Manager – my first role in the charity sector, having previously spent over 20 years in retail and working in some high profile companies, including White Stuff, Cath Kidston and Apple.

I’ve always had a huge passion for supporting, coaching and developing teams and I was thrilled to take on the role of COO in April 2025.  It’s a real opportunity to help shape the future direction of the organisation alongside a truly dedicated team.”

Emmanuel Mba

Finance Manager

“With over 13 years of experience across a range of industries, I’ve had the opportunity to work in various roles and on diverse projects. My most recent roles were at DHL UK and the British Telecommunications Pension Scheme (BTPS).

I’m excited to join Nottinghamshire Mind because of the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the mental health space and contribute to the incredible work already being done. I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team and supporting our shared goals.”

Annalise Porter

Senior Services Manager

“Seeing confidence grow when new activities are tried, and strength gained from peer support is why I enjoy working at Nottinghamshire Mind. Small changes can lead to big improvements. This along with a fun and supportive team make it a great place to work.”

Bec Dakin

Resilience & Stabilisation Service Manager

“With my own lived experience with mental health, I knew I wanted to support others when the time was right. Joining the Nottinghamshire Mind family feels like I have found the place that I belong and now I have the ability to make a meaningful impact on those around me, whether it be my peers or the clients that we support every single day.”

Martina Gaborova

Counselling & Therapies Lead

“Becoming a counsellor and working for the counselling and therapy services has been the most meaningful and rewarding work experience for me to date. Ultimately, I want to make a difference to those going through the tough times. Providing direction, support and guidance by connecting to others and helping them when most vulnerable, not only gives me a purpose and fulfilment in my career but it also empowers change.”

Gina Betts

Volunteer & Placement Lead

I came to work at Nottinghamshire Mind because I wanted to be part of a service that makes a difference to people’s lives. I love meeting new people and interacting with people and this job allows me to do that, while working in a supportive and friendly environment.

I feel proud to be working as part of a service that is helping people every day.
